Microsoft is partially extending antimalware support for Windows XP.
I hope that this partially softens the blow for users that are not able to get off of Windows XP before the April 8, 2014 deadline.

http://blogs.technet.com/b/mmpc/archive/2014/01/15/microsoft-antimalware-support-for-windows-xp.aspx

"To help organizations complete their migrations, Microsoft will continue to provide updates to our antimalware signatures and engine for Windows XP users through July 14, 2015.

This does not affect the end-of-support date of Windows XP, or the supportability of Windows XP for other Microsoft products, which deliver and apply those signatures."

"For consumers, this applies to Microsoft Security Essentials."

I recently ran into a situation with the newest Google Chrome web browser, where the latest update changes the scrollbar on the right side to no longer have the up and down arrows at the top and bottom of the scrollbar.

To fix this issue, there are some extensions available for modifying or customizing scrollbars.
One such extension is called "Win7 Scrollbars" and gives Google Chrome normal Windows 7 styled scrollbars.

I believe that MS changed this early reported stance.
On home user machines they DO NOT supply updates for Security Essentials any more.

Sad that you did not say if it was an update for Google Chrome or for Windows.

Either way, I recommend to use Firefox instead of IE or Chrome for ONE simple reason only.

In Firefox the privacy conscious user can thwart most of Google's pervasive tracking, in Chrome that is not possible.
